Dynamics of annular solvent droplets under capillary thinning of non-entangled polymer solution

Formation and coalescence of solvent droplets on a thread polymer solution at the final stage capillary pinching is studied theoretically. It considered that macromolecules are already almost completely stretched along extension axis their contour length exceeds diameter thread. In this regime, radius string decreases slowly with time under action forces squeezes out to surface forming annular different sizes. The thinning process stops when pressure balanced by osmotic polymer. As result, quasistationary two-phase structure polydisperse formed. We develop rigorous theory showing core swollen in droplet regions but still remains much thinner than phase. also demonstrate such blistering unstable respect elucidate two mechanisms due flow between diffusion string. Both lead same long-time power law ( t 1/7 ) for radius. shown breakage may occur scales exceeding Rouse chains.
